'Plan Campus' Programme

The University of Lille has obtained one of twelve "Plan Campus" grants put in place by the French government with a large amount of support from territorial authorities. The programme strives to construct campuses of excellence that will showcase France and reinforce the attractiveness and influence of French universities.

The "Campus Grand Lille" is taking form through large construction projects that will radically change the living and working conditions on the campuses, with investments, as a whole, of more than 450 million euros.

For academic programmes, our objective is to adapt our building capacities to the growing number of students and to commit to new structures that respond to the varied academic needs of Lille's University.

  • Expansion of learning facilities in the Medical Faculty, Health Campus
  • Construction of a new campus which will include the Institut de Marketing and Management (IMMD Marketing School, Lille 2) and the LEA applied languages faculty (Lille 3) on the Ilôt Gare campus in Roubaix
  • Eurasport: construction of a centre for teaching and research of sport and handicap pathologies, Health Campus.

Libraries of the Future

Innovation Learning Center (LILLIAD), dedicated to innovation, on the Cité Scientifique Science and Technology Campus. The laying of the foundation stone took place on September 18, 2014, with the opening expected in 2016.

For student life, the Plan Campus Programme is highly ambitious, especially for student housing, with the construction of more than 1700 additional accommodations on University of Lille campuses.

The REEFLEX residence Hall opened in 2015 on the Cité Scientifique Science and Technology Campus. 538 apartments make up a hotel-style residence hall open to international students, non-traditional students, researchers invited to the University of Lille and engineering students from Telecom lille. This hall also has a nursery including capacity for over 30 cribs.
