Preparing for higher education starts in secondary school. That’s why we welcome you throughout the year to learn about the university and its courses, the environment it offers and how it is organised.
Discover university before the baccalauréat!
Secondary school students, parents, come and discover the campuses and learn about student life through workshops, dedicated days and meetings with student ambassadors.
Immersion days to learn about student life
Are you in your final year at secondary school? Take part in an immersion day (November and February) at the University of Lille. This day gives you the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a student from the University of Lille in order to:
- find out what the day-to-day life of a student is like
- attend classes of your choosing
- complete and confirm your post-baccalauréat course choices.
You can register for this scheme via the link: https://immersion.univ-lille.fr/
For parents Discussion sessions at the university, several times a year
Parents of students are invited to the university to find out information and to ask us questions about courses and the organisation of studies. These meetings take place several times a year.
Meetings and exchanges with student ambassadors
Held in the form of round-table discussions, our student ambassadors who are enrolled in licence or master’s programmes lead these meetings with school pupils, who appreciate the opportunity to hear about their experiences and listen to what they have to say about the different paths you can take as a student.

A welcome period for a smooth start to the new academic year
Because the first year of university is important, the University of Lille has set up the student life and immersion days (Jivé). They are a special time during which students are welcomed and provided with support and information about the general functioning of the university, its member schools, faculties and institutes and the departments dedicated to them (sport, culture, student life, health and disability, etc.). These days are also an opportunity for all the students of the University of Lille to share great moments through numerous sports, cultural and festive activities.
