Changing to a different course of study

Are you a student at another institution and would like to transfer to the University of Lille to study for a licence, BUT, etc.? Discover the possibilities.

The course change campaign (Modification of administrative enrolment) begins Friday, 12 September2025.
The end date is specific to each course. This course change scheme is only open to students with proof of enrolment in the first year of a programme at the University of Lille for the current year.

If you would like to switch to a BUT programme, you must apply on the RéoSup platform. From mid-October onwards, you’ll be able to check the availability of places on the courses. Once you have submitted your application, the University of Lille will issue a response as soon as possible, so that you can start your course as soon as possible.

The course change at the end of S1 and S3 concerns you if you are currently enrolled in your first or second year at a French higher education institution inFrance.

To provide you with the best possible support, the academic guidance offices on the university’s various campuses are organising:

  • A forum on all the options for changing course (licence, BUT, BTS, civic service, GRETA, etc.) on Tuesday 18 November from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Pont-de-bois(Forum rebond poster)
  • Information meetings to tell you about the procedure and the course on offer.(Information meeting calendar)
  • Brainstorming workshops for preparing and helping with applications.

The list of courses open to transferring students(Open courses.pdf)
All details relating to the calendar snd the procedure to follow can be found on REO-SUAIO

Please note that you are not automatically entitled to change course. We recommend that you don’t quit the course in which you are currently enrolled. In addition, not all courses accept transferring students.

So please don’t hesitate to contact the academic guidance offices for the differentcampuses.

Special case

Students who are enrolled at both a CPGE/University of Lille (schools operating under agreement with the university) who wish to join the University of Lille are invited to contact the student affairs office responsible for the course in question. They are not affected by the procedure for changing course, unless they wish to join a course other than the one for which they have applied for dual enrolment. In this case, they must complete the procedure for changing course.

If, at the end of your course, you wish to start a new course from first year (licence1, BUT1, BTS1, etc.) in the following year, you must reapply through Parcoursup

To consolidate your plans, we invite you to attend the student fair and open days to meet our teaching staff and find out more about studying here.

The academic guidance department (formerly SUAIO) organises the following events between February and March:

  • information meetings to present the application procedure and answer questions;

  • specific office hours to help you make your choices and assist you with any technical difficulties you may encounter.

Key dates: February to March

If youhave completed your first year(or are thinking of completing your year), you can switch to a different course at the University of Lille in 2nd year.

Each course has its own application timetable, and most open between March and April for varying periods of time. You should therefore regularly check the ‘available courses’ tab of the Ecandidat application to see if the course you’re interested in is listed and find out the application period, whether the course you’re interested in is selective or not.

The academic guidance department (formerly SUAIO) can advise and support you as you think about your new study plans. Teaching staff also take into account previous experience, which they compare against the prerequisites for the course you’re interested in. The greater the coherence between the two, the more likely the student is to be accepted on to the course.
