Casual employees and student workers
The University of Lille is responsible for the processing of personal data, in particular in relation to human resources management in connection with the recruitment of casual (teaching, administrative and technical) and contract student workers.

This section describes the data held about you by the university, the reasons why it is held and your rights concerning this information.
The Human Resources Department (Direction des Relations Humaines; DRH) collects and processes a range of information about you. This includes, depending on the casual worker’s profile:
Administrative documents:
- your name, address and contact details;
- your personal telephone number (optional);
- your bank details;
- proof of social security registration;
- your valid residence permit with authorisation to work in France for non-EU and EEA nationals;
- your CV and cover letter;
- your availability, if applicable.
Supporting documents evidencing the casual worker’s main status:
- Authorisation for tenured civil servants to work another job at the same time.
- authorisation from the main employer for public-sector contractors and private-sector employees.
- Pay slips or certified accountant’s certificate for a salaried manager.
- Cotisation Foncière des Entreprises notice for self-employed taxpayers.
- 3 most recent income tax status notices for self-employed persons not subject to tax.
- Document certifying the creation of a business for self-employed persons not subject to tax.
- Proof of retirement pension for a pensioner.
- University enrolment certificate for a student.
Educational information:
- nature of shifts;
- number of hours;
- dates worked.
Data is collected, updated and processed as part of the administrative management of casual workers for the purpose of managing payment for hours worked.
Data is kept for the duration of the data subject’s period of employment (unless otherwise stipulated by law or regulation). Beyond that, the data may be archived on a separate digital medium with very limited access, in accordance with the rules applicable to public and private archives.
You have the following rights:
- right to be informed;
- right of access;
- right to rectification;
- right to restrict processing;
- right to data portability;
- right to object if your data is used for other purposes for which there is no legal obligation.
If you do not receive a response to your request within a reasonable period of time, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (CNIL) in accordance with Article 13 of the GDPR.
