The University of Lille is responsible for the processing of personal data, in particular for accessing the services provided to enable access to the University of Lille’s university libraries.

The Data Protection Officer is Jean-Luc Tessier

This section describes the data held about you by the university, the reasons why it is held and your rights concerning this information.

This processing is optional, you can object to it but this means that you will be unable to access all services. In order to minimise the amount of data collected, certain pieces of information are marked as optional. You are affected by this processing if you use the services of the university libraries and are not an employee or member of the university.

The university libraries that form part of the Library Services Department collect and process a range of information about you to manage your registration as a reader from outside the University of Lille community. This includes:

  • identity (surname, birth name (where applicable), first name);
  • title;
  • date of birth;
  • address;
  • e-mail address;
  • landline/mobile phone number (optional);
  • institution at which you study, where applicable.

This data enables university library staff to register you in the relevant database. You’ll receive a clickable link in your inbox giving you access to the services on offer. You will receive a list of these services when you register at the library of your choice.

This data is not shared or transferred.

Data is stored for as long as you are registered in the active database and for 2 years in the intermediate database.

You have the following rights:

  • right to be informed;
  • right of access;
  • right to rectification;
  • right to restrict processing;
  • right to data portability;
  • right to object if your data is used for other purposes for which there is no legal obligation.

If you do not receive a response to your request within a reasonable period of time, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (CNIL) in accordance with Article 13 of the GDPR.

You can contact the representative for the exercise of these rights by e-mail at dpo[at]univ-lille[point]fr or by post at:
