The University of Lille is committed to supporting victims of various forms of violence, whether domestic, psychological, gender-based or sexual.
Responding to gender-based and/or sexual violence
Prevention and awareness training
Accessible to the university community and compulsory for student associations
To combat gender-based and sexual violence (GBSV), the University of Lille is offering employees and students the chance to take part in a prevention and awareness training course. This is now compulsory for all associations wishing to be approved by the university
A guide to information and support
For victims and witnesses of violence
Since 2019, the Equality Mission has also been working on the creation of a guide to inform and support victims and witnesses of GBSV. The guide ‘Violences sexistes et sexuelles : que faire, qui alerter ? 6 points à retenir’ was put together following meetings with student associations who told us about students who didn’t know where to turn after experiencing or witnessing GBSV.
This guide is structured around 6 steps, from an emergency situation to the implementation of an administrative and/or legal procedure, including the various means available to reduce the trauma suffered by victims and witnesses alike. We invite everyone to consult this guide and keep it in a safe place.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the student associations that helped us with this project: Adespol, Apsyle, Bio Lille, FAEL, He For She Geosciences, La Goutte d’’eau, Olympe se bouge, Oser dire non
The university’s mediation center
Open to all students and staff of the university, the mediation centre is a place where you will be welcomed and can find information and answers to legal and administrative questions. Its mission is to prevent abusive behaviour and conflicts, to achieve peaceful relations, and to raise awareness within the university community of issues such as the promotion of equality, the fight against discrimination and gender-based violence, and respect for secularism. It also has systems in place to combat sexual and psychological harassment.
Tools for recognising psychological or sexual violence
How do I know if I or a friend is being psychologically, physically and/or sexually abused? Which situations are normal and which are unacceptable? To help you identify and understand violence and its systemic mechanisms, we’ve selected a number of tools.
