May by Bike 2025: a month to adopt cycling for life!

Take part in the new edition of the ‘May by Bike’ challenge between 1 and 31 May 2025! This year’s event is the 5th to be held nationwide.

Take part in the ‘May by Bike’ challenge

What is the aim of the challenge?

The aim of the challenge is to cycle as many kilometres as possible altogether on daily trips between 1 and 31 May (commuting to school or work, shopping or appointments, getting some fresh air, etc.).

It is also an opportunity to discover, or rediscover, cycling and its benefits, and to cover as many kilometres as possible as a team during daily trips in May. It’s a great way to stay in shape, discover campuses by bike and meet other participants at events throughout the challenge.

Throughout the month of May, students and staff at the university will be able to take part in a range of activities, including bike rides, self-repair workshops, cargo bike test rides, loans and more.

How to get involved

To take part, you must create an account on the Geovelo app and join the ‘University of Lille’ team.

If you already have an account, simply click on the following link:
Join the ‘University of Lille’ team

Just like last year, the Geovelo application allows you to sign up to more than one team. The same person can therefore be a member of several teams. His or her kilometres will be counted for all the teams with which he or she is affiliated. In addition to the ‘University of Lille’ team, you can join a team from your own laboratory, member school, faculty or institute, department, etc.

Check out all the university teams taking part – there might be one just for you!

Click on the link to join the team of your choice. And don’t forget to join the University of Lille team to keep track of all your kilometres under one banner!
